About Katherine.
As a filmmaker, Katherine aims to tell stories that do more than simply entertain. Whether through education, representation, or giving voices to those often forgotten, Katherine hopes to use her skills as a filmmaker to help people and make the world a kinder place.
Katherine has made a number of independent short films, including "Body Love" which won "Best Documentary" and the Brian Friedman Award at the Iris Film Festival in 2017.
She also often works with film partner and other half of "Film Wives Productions" Riley Dismore. Together, they have created award-winning short "ROLLING" which was accepted to and screened at Cannes International Film Festival in May 2019.
Crump and Dismore also released 30-minute comedy, “REBEL GIRLS” in 2019 and are in pre-production for 20-minute drama, “TELLING THE BEES” to be shot in 2020.
Katherine worked on the independent feature "The Storyteller" as co-editor, second assistant camera, and DIT. "The Storyteller" has screened at a number of film festivals nationally and continues to approach a wider distribution market. It can currently be seen in Hallmark's new streaming site and Amazon Prime.
Katherine graduated from Indiana University's Cinema Production program in May 2018. Most notably from her education, she spent a month studying filmmaking at FAMU International in Prague. Along with 11 other students, Katherine worked to create three short films in less than four weeks while taking classes with seasoned professionals in the European film industry.
